Jesus was not talking to priests and religious (there was no such thing at the time the gospels were written) but to every one of his followers

Just a few thoughts

·         Yesterday’s reflections referred to the birth of Christ, the Light of the world and also as the Saviour of the world. I like the idea of the “Light” rather than the “Saviour”.
Jesus has cast a bright light on humanity and given so many lessons to help us understand what the gift of life should be about.
My thinking is that Jesus has given us the messages and examples, but we have free will and therefore we must make the effort to gain the insights like the blind people and so “save” ourselves, or justify ourselves.
What do you think?

·         Sue has found an interesting item in the UK National Archives - A sticky situation: The Christmas pudding palaver of 1952Thanks Sue. It seems that the Empire needed protection!

Reflection

ü  During Advent, the wreath entwines both the completion of our life-long journey; along with the final unveiling, or the apocalypse, of Christ.  -  Rev Dr Richard Leonard

ü  Advent finds us on a bridge, says Australian Provincial Fr Brian McCoy SJ, crossing to a new phase of our lives. These bridges offer us new opportunities as we walk together on them.
