Just a few
thoughts

"I know you've heard it a thousand times
before. But it's true - hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to
practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do
it." -- Ray Bradbury
·
Christian authoritative teachings are grounded
in the tradition of scriptures and the believing community’s reflection on
those scriptures over the centuries. The
articulation of those teachings can be dated and jarring to a modern listener
unfamiliar with the tradition, especially in relation to issues in which there
have been profound new discoveries in the social and physical sciences. Those teachings can be so jarring as to be
wrong or at least in need of restatement.

We pray for all who are implementing the
Australian Plenary Council and preparing for the world Synod on Synodality. May
they be guided by the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
