Touching the Untouchables

Oh Dear!

v Sheila discovered this morning that the church is closed for weekday Mass until further notice due to Covid. There is a notice on the door. We did not receive any emailed notification. Was there an outbreak last Sunday? In that case we should have been notified, I would have thought. What is happening?
For those affected by Covid , we wish you strength and a quick recovery.
Does anyone know if help is needed?
Should there be some communication with parishioners to keep them up to date?

Just a few thoughts

·        May Christians have a deep compassion for all who suffer.

·        We pray for people who are fearful because of the pandemic and have become isolated from others, that gestures of kindness by families or neighbours, will bring reassurance and comfort.

·        We are invited by one of Australia’s most senior Aboriginal Christian Leaders, Aunty Jean Phillips, to gather together to pray in unison on the evening before January 26. During a moment of national significance, answer the call to prayer to #ChangeTheHeart of this nation.

Reflection

ü In one sense the world is still full of lepers.

ü The leper in the story indicates his great faith and trust in Jesus, a necessary and sufficient condition for healing in the Gospel.
