May the hospitality which Jesus and his apostles
received from Martha, Mary and Lazarus, and the faith of the sisters in him at
the time of the death of Lazarus, inspire us to be hospitable to others, and
full of faith in times of distress.

We pray for the many human beings struggling to
survive from day to day on the barest rations of food and water, that the world
community will do everything in its power to supply them with the necessities
of life
