It is utterly intolerable for Christians to restrict themselves to the position of mere observers.

Just a few thoughts

·         Tomorrow is International Women’s Day. It is so important, especially in Australia at this time.
Women [and men] you must act to tell society’s leaders that things must change.

·         Today’s Gospel has an incredible message. Jesus is the new temple and after Easter we are the Body of Christ; the new temple! How can we live up to that concept?

I cannot refuse to love someone that God loves.

Just a few thoughts

·         Fr Henri Nouwen wrote a whole book reflecting on this famous painting by Rembrandt - The Return of the Prodigal Son.  I had a copy of the book and gave it away. It never came back.

·         The son that comes back, destitute and famished, is hugged by an old man, with two different hands: one, from the father that holds him tight; the other, from the mother, sweet and tender, that caresses him. God is Father and Mother...

·         Sheila attended the World Day of Prayer yesterday with 4 other parishioners. She loved the service and the conversations afterwards!

We are entrusted with God’s vineyard

Just a few thoughts

·         World Day of Prayer today  --  10am at Morialta Uniting Church; Chapel St. Magill.

·         There are many stories about the lack of justice and equality for women in our society. Some incredible speeches have been made . Next Monday is International Women’s Day

·         I understand that a march is being organised in support of March 4 Justice  on March 15

·         Still Listening To The Spirit is a 2019 book containing a collection of essays discussing justice and the participation of women in the Church. I have a copy, if anyone wants to read it.
I wonder how much attention will be given to the role of women in the Plenary Council?

Reflection.

ü  This is not just a story about a comfortable ‘long ago’; it is for the Church of today. If we are not “producing the goods,” others will. “God has left the building,” said Bono. Many people, experiencing lack of community and spiritual support in their parishes, are looking to new religions and cults for support.  Read More

Be Merciful

Just a few thoughts

·         Enjoy The Journey

When you are a young person, you are like a young creek, and you meet many rocks, many obstacles and difficulties on your way. You hurry to get past these obstacles and get to the ocean.
But as the creek moves down through the fields, it becomes larger and calmer and it can enjoy the reflection of the sky. It's wonderful.
You will arrive at the sea anyway so enjoy the journey. Enjoy the sunshine, the sunset, the moon, the birds, the trees, and the many beauties along the way.
