Be Alert and Be Careful

Just a few thoughts

34 active C-Virus cases yesterday – a positive sign. It could have been so much higher.
Remember that to be safe the best things to do are always:

1.      Stay Home!

2.      Wash Hands Thoroughly Frequently

3.      Cover Your Coughs

4.      If you feel unwell and think you have symptoms of COVID-19, seek medical advice and get tested.

5.      If you really have to go out to shop or whatever, keep your distance from other people and wear a mask.

"Receive your sight; your faith has saved you."

Just a few thoughts

·         Was NAIDOC Week celebrated in our parish last week?

·         During the week, the Vatican released the long awaited 450 page report on Theodore McCarrick who was a cardinal and one-time archbishop of Washington.
Many in the Church knew he was involved in sexually abuse.
Pope John Paul II dismissed the concerns and appointed him as bishop anyway. Then he appointed him as a cardinal. McCarrick was such an insider that his supporters were able to circumvent the usual checks and balances.
The findings of the McCarrick report are devastating. Our leaders like Pope John Paul II failed to acknowledge and act on his abusive activity.

By living continuously and consciously in the presence of God, in the ever-present NOW, we are not going to be caught by surprise.

Just a few thoughts

·         Alright then, social media has exposed it! Yep, Daisy turned 80 yesterday!

·         From Australian Catholics - There is a dichotomy to the Catholic Church. On one hand the Church has numerous rules and traditions, on the other it celebrates the biggest rule breaker of all – Jesus.
It was love for God and love for neighbour that prompted Jesus' actions.
