The October 2013 Parish Lunch

Wasn't it great to have so many parishioners and friends getting together for a pleasant Sunday afternoon!

Tranmere Parish Celebrates 70 Years!

The Concert
Parishioners enjoyed a most enjoyable concert in the church. The guest artists were the Adelaide Male Voice Choir. The choir was in excellent form!
In contrast with the adult male voices we were also entertained by the junior members of our parish choir. As the conductor of the Male Voice Choir said - It brings tears to your eyes!

Peace Making Starts With Us

When I saw this title it reminded me of the homily of Fr Dennis today.
He spoke about prayer and how prayer helps us to focus on the things we can do ourselves through the inspiration of prayer to make a difference for the common good. Prayer motivates us to be peace makers.

The article is written by Sr Clare Condon.
It includes the following:-
"According to the website Global Issues, the world spends more than US$1,000 billion annually on the military. The permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – the USA, Russia, France, the UK and China – sell more armaments to developing nations than they give in aid to these nations. The USA and Russia have the largest armaments industries in the world."

Mind boggling!
